Setting Up Pocket ID with Passkey
Pocket ID provides secure, passwordless authentication using passkeys. This guide will walk you through setting up your first passkey at id.kenway.me .
What is a Passkey?
Passkeys are a modern authentication method that uses your device’s biometric authentication (like Face ID, Touch ID, or Windows Hello) or a PIN to sign in. They’re more secure than passwords and easier to use - no more remembering complex passwords!

4. Create Your Passkey
Your browser will prompt you to create a passkey:
-
Choose where to store your passkey:
- This device - Stores the passkey on your current device (recommended for personal devices)
- USB security key - Stores on a hardware security key (recommended for shared devices)
-
Complete the authentication:
- On Mac/iOS: Use Face ID or Touch ID
- On Windows: Use Windows Hello (fingerprint, facial recognition, or PIN)
- On Android: Use fingerprint or screen lock
- With security key: Follow the prompts to activate your key
-
Give your passkey a name:
- Enter a descriptive name like “My MacBook Pro” or “iPhone 15”
- This helps you identify which device/key the passkey belongs to
-
Confirm creation:
- Click “Create” or “Done”
- Your passkey is now saved!
5. Test Your Passkey

- Consider using a hardware security key as a backup
- Keep a recovery method configured (email, phone number)
Security
- Never share your passkey - it’s unique to your device

- Review your passkeys regularly - remove any you no longer use
Troubleshooting
